LITZ WIRE CASE STUDIES

Leading Designers know the benefits of Litz Wire

Ideal Power Converters

Ideal Power Converters, the developer of an AC-link soft switch buck-boost converter used New England Wire Technologies Type 8 Litz wire to boost current performance and decrease operating temperature requirements. The low AC resistance of the Litz used on the link inductor, a 200 uH, shielded air core inductor, resulted in only 25 milli-ohms AC resistance. The proposed topology promises size, weight and cost reduction while improving performance over existing converter designs.
