Type 8 Litz wire feature single insulated magnet wire strands twisted and compressed into a rectangular profile with optional outer insulation of textile yarn, tape, or extruded compounds.
The rectangular compacted Type 8 Litz constructions are designed with copper densities from 60 to 75 percent of the cable’s cross-sectional area. This type Litz is particularly suited windings where limited space necessitates a conductor with excellent fill factor and copper density. Square-shaped profiles are also available for maximizing winding space.
